A website encouraging Islanders to register and vote in the 2014 States of Jersey elections has been launched by the Privileges and Procedures Committee.
Vote.je is an essential guide to voting in Jersey and contains everything that Islanders need to know about registering to vote and voting in the elections on Wednesday 15th October 2014.
Committee Chairman, Deputy Jeremy Maçon, said the website was the first port of call for anyone who wanted to find out more about this year’s elections. He said: “Vote.je is an engaging and informative tool for Islanders who want to know more about the 2014 elections. We want to make sure that everyone knows how to get on the electoral register and how to cast their vote on election day.
“The website is also the place to go if you are considering standing for election as it provides candidates with all the information they will need. From September the website will also have information about the candidates who are standing for election, including their contact details and manifestos.”
Deputy Maçon said he hoped that Islanders would follow @Voteje on Facebook and Twitter to keep up-to-date with information about the forthcoming elections. He said: “In October Islanders will be voting to elect a new States Assembly. Wednesday 15th October is an important date in the Island’s future so having access to all the information about the candidates and the election process is essential.”
Islanders can log onto www.vote.je for more information.
