WellBeing At Work Partners with BPP to Give Employees their Voice

WellBeing At Work, the workplace platform established by WellBeing World, and BPP Professional Education, Jersey’s largest on-island tutor team, are continuing their partnership to host a one day Employee Engagement seminar, called ‘VOICE: Getting Heard’.

Latest CIPD research shows a deterioration in Employee Voice, and Employee Engagement levels which are at a record low. Pointing to a worrying decline in the satisfaction of employees in respect of their ability to feed views upwards, the Winter 2012-2013 CIPD Employee Outlook survey also highlights a particular deterioration in the extent to which employees feel leaders consult them about important decisions. This is reflected by an increase in negative views on the extent to which employees feel they have a voice in their organisation.

Employee Voice also the KEY to Innovation – and Corporate Governance

Research shows time and again the strong correlation between employees who feel they have a ‘voice’ in the organisation and those who feel engaged. Employee voice is also key to innovation and the enabling of ideas from all employees, including the frontline interface with customers to inform business strategy. Equally importantly, healthy employee voice can also help support effective corporate governance and risk management by allowing everyone in the organisation to voice their concerns about potential risks to the business, at an early stage.

The timing is therefore right for this group of local professionals to offer their assistance to Channel Islands organisations.

VOICE: Getting Heard is the second seminar being run jointly by BPP and WellBeing At Work. The one day seminar has been created for business owners, managers and employees, and will be led by newly appointed BPP MD, Natalie Dimond, and Ian Lucas, BPP Professional Development Programme Leader; it will be chaired by Beverley Le Cuirot, Founder and Director, WellBeing World.

Participating practitioners offering practical solutions to immediately apply back in the workplace will include Lincoln Miles of Miles Professional Development; Peter Mac: Cognitive Hypnotherapist; Grant Henderson of Active Ergonomics; and David Witherington, Director of JACS.

This is the first time an Employee Engagement course has been delivered in this way in the Channel Islands.
