Dr. Alan Renwick will visit Jersey on Tuesday 10th September 2013 to talk to States Members and Islanders about voting systems for public elections.
The States of Jersey Privileges and Procedures Committee has invited Dr. Renwick to Jersey to advise the Committee on voting mechanisms including proportional representation, the Single Transferable Vote and Alternative Voting systems.
Islanders will have the opportunity to attend a presentation by Dr. Renwick, followed by a question and answer session, at the Town Hall Assembly Room at 6 pm on Tuesday 10th September 2013.
Privileges and Procedures Committee Chairman, Deputy Jeremy Maçon, said: “We are pleased that Dr. Renwick will be coming to Jersey to assist the Committee in its research into possible voting mechanisms for public elections.
“I hope that Islanders will take the opportunity to attend Tuesday’s presentation to find out about the options available and to discuss their views.”
