TTS and JEC infrastructure works to affect roads to the east of St Helier

Two essential infrastructure projects commence next week which will affect traffic flows to the east of St Helier.

TTS commence resurfacing works on La Rue a Don (and Longueville Road) between La Rue des Pres and Le Chemin du Radier on 6 January and the JEC’s duct laying works recommence along Greve d’Azette on 8 January. Both projects will be managed to minimise delays to the travelling public and in particular delays to morning commuters. Arrangements will be as follows:-

  • Rue a Don open as normal to ‘two way’ traffic up until 9am each weekday morning, with the road reopened at 6pm.
  • Greve d’Azette open to westbound traffic up to 9.30am each weekday, closed between 9.30am and 3pm, open to eastbound traffic from 3pm and open both ways from 6pm to 7am the next day. The road will be closed between 10am and 4pm on Sundays.
  • There will be no road closures on Saturdays with both roads open as usual.

The traffic lights at Plat Douet Road, Georgetown and Le Mont Millais will be adjusted to allow for changes in traffic demand throughout the day. Bus services will be maintained on all routes throughout the duration of both projects.

Motorists are advised to expect some delays and to allow more time for their journeys in the areas to the east of St Helier during the day and the early evening.
