Traffic management in St Peter’s Valley

| December 6, 2012 | 0 Comments

Next week Transport and Technical Services (TTS) will be carrying out urgent works to remove water from the carriageway in St Peter’s Valley. The water comes from a natural stream that has begun flowing after heavy rainfall.

It has been decided to do the work at this time because a cold winter has been forecast, which could mean that the water will freeze on the highway, representing a hazard to motorists, especially motorcyclists and cyclists. The works will comprise the construction of a drainage channel adjacent the rock face for 20m on St Peter’s Valley between the bottom of Mont Fallu and Tesson Mill.

In order to carry out the works safely, stop/go boards will be in operation on St Peter’s Valley between 9.00am and 4.30pm for one week. This will be on the diversion route for the Beaumont Hill route improvement project. However, it is not anticipated that road-users will be significantly delayed.

Transport and Technical Services apologises in advance for any disruption caused to motorists during these urgent highway works.
