Champions Of Magic

Four world-class magicians will leave their mysterious mark on islanders and visitors alike next month as they unite to become the Champions Of Magic at Jersey Opera House from Thursday 7th to Saturday 9th August.

Otherwise fondly referred to as a gang of liars, swindlers and cheats (award-winning ones no less!), these magicians promise a night of family fun and mind-blowing trickery with mastery of card manipulation, death-defying stunts, brain-boggling sleight of hand, and spectacular illusions.

The entertainers include illusionist David Penn, mind-reader Alex McAleer, Britain’s premier close-up magician Fay Presto, and dove magician ErwanBodiou.

You may recognise seven times National award-winning magician and illusionist David Penn who reached the finals of Britain’s Got Talent.  His large scale illusions won him the title of British Magic Champion and his innovative effects have been ‘borrowed’ by other world-class magicians, such as Dynamo.

Fay Presto was voted The Magic Circle Close-up Magician of the Year in 2012. She has personally been requested to entertain HM The Queen on no less than six occasions, as well as performing for every other senior member of the Royal family.

The BBC described Alex The Mind Reader as ‘phenomenal’.He reveals words, names, places and drawings that people are merely thinking about; facts which he couldn’t possibly know.

French magician ErwanBodiou performs stylish manipulations with doves, fire and pyrotechnics. Having recently performed in the gala show at the internationally recognised Blackpool Magic Convention, he has also appeared on ‘Le Grand Cabaret Du Monde’, a hit variety show broadcast on French television.

With a live video feed, fiery pyrotechnics, stunning lighting and,of course, audience participation, these performers deliver an immersive experience in the art of magic.

Champions of Magic is showing at Jersey Opera House on Thursday 7th and Friday 8th August at 7:30pm, and at 2:30pm and 8pm on Saturday 9th August. Tickets are £17.50-£24.50.
