Through the generous support of Lloyds Bank, a series of 4 period dramas will be screened in the candlelit atmosphere of 16 New Street. It is hoped that the unique period setting will enable viewers to become truly ensconced in the sumptuous settings of the Duchess or imagine for a brief heart stopping moment or two that Mr Darcy might actually be coming through the doorway!
Asked what inspired him to put on the event, Chris Addy, House Manager of No 16, commented; “The building really comes into its own in the evenings, especially in the autumn and winter when the weather is often cold and wet. With the candles and paraffin lamps lit and the fire blazing, it’s hard to think of a better place to relax and immerse yourself in a historic drama.”
The film screenings begin at 6.45pm each Wednesday evening during the month of November, with a ticket charge of £8.50, inclusive of a glass of wine on arrival. To book please email email@example.com or telephone the National Trust office on 483193.
