Stained Nation Tattoo Lounge, opposite the town hall, have organised a day of ‘free’ tattoos, today, Friday 13th December, in aid of Headway Jersey.
The local tattoo studio which is run by Samael Carhill & Flicquet Renouf will be open from 10am to midnight for their special day of fundraising. As well as donating their equipment on the day the Tattoo artists will be giving their time to support the local charity. Instead of paying for a tattoo, which would normally cost a minimum of £40, those taking part are asked to leave a donation which will go direct to Headway, helping to support people locally who are affected by brain injury.
Samael explained “We have been planning this event for some time, we want it to be a fun event open to everyone in the community to get involved. By asking for donations for Headway with each tattoo we hope to raise lots of fund to help a great cause”
Those keen to have a tattoo are invited to choose a small design from a series of ‘Flash Sheets’ which are on display within the shop and on their Facebook page – Stained Nation Tattoo Studio. Each tattoo will take approx 30 to 45 minutes on a first come first served basis.
Beth Gallichan Fundraiser at Headway said “This is a really unusual fundraiser, we are really pleased that Stained Nation have really pulled together to organise such an exciting event. There are many people within the community and members at Headway who have tattoos which have a special meaning to them, the funds raised on Friday will be help to make a real difference to our Headway Members”.
There will also be other entertainment throughout the day and in to the evening with face painters and fire jugglers entertaining the crowds. There will also be Christmas cards and Calendars on sale from reception. For those brave enough to get a Tattoo, Refuel Espresso Bar have kindly offered to provide delicious Mexican style food to all those taking part.
