Members of The Inclusion Project will be selling hand-baked treats to the public on 25th July. The money raised will go towards supporting their summer programme.
The bake sale will be held in Liberation Square from 11.30am to 2.30pm. The initiative has been organised and sponsored by Voisin law firm and Volaw Group to help raise funds and awareness of the charity, which helps 11-25 year olds with special needs.
Voisin law firm and Volaw Group have been partners of the local charity for two years. Staff will be helping the Inclusion Project members set up the stall and will be putting their baking skills to the test by providing goods to sell. The array of cakes on offer will even include a special gluten-free cake from Don Street Deli baked by renowned chef Shaun Rankin.
The event marks the launch of The Inclusion Project’s Summer Programme, which consists of a variety of activities such as a Dolphin Spotting and Fishing trip, ten pin bowling and attending a Romeo and Juliet play at Mont Orgueil Castle. The Programme aims to nurture the members’ skills and help them to forge friendships whilst also giving parents and carers essential respite.
Georgina Jeffries, Head of Marketing, Voisin law firm and Volaw Group, commented:
‘We are proud partners of The Inclusion Project and all our staff are looking forward to the bake sale. Those who are keen cooks will be producing delicious treats for the stall and others will be lining up as customers. Raising awareness of this small, local charity is important to us and we really hope that the business community will come out in force to support them on 25th July.’
Leana D’Orleans, Senior Youth Worker, The Inclusion Project, added:
‘Our members are very excited about running the stall and selling their wares to the public, this will be a great learning and bonding experience for them as a group. We would like to encourage as many members of the business community to attend the cake sale and help support our youth club. On behalf of The Inclusion Project I am very grateful to all staff at Voisin law firm and Volaw Group for supporting our young members and the Summer Programme, we couldn’t do it without them.’
