With more channels than Freeview, better recording functions than Sky +, an app-based programme guide and out-of-the-home remote recording, Sure TV will, for the first time, give islanders a real choice in TV platforms.
Launched on 16th October, Sure TV is set to revolutionise Jersey’s TV market in a way that no locally-based provider has done before.
The service, which will be available free to some Sure broadband customers, offers popular channels that are currently not available to Jersey’s Freeview viewers, including ITV4, Film 4, Five*, Five USA, CITV and local radio stations. It also incorporates features such as High Definition TV (HDTV), up to 160 hours of recording time and the ability to record two channels whilst watching a third.
Sure TV viewers will also be able to pause and rewind shows whilst they are watching programmes, have easy access to multi-room viewing and will even be able to browse the programme guide and set the box to record whilst away from their house. The set-top box also acts as a full media centre playing videos, music and pictures via the USB port or directly from your PC etc.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for Jersey’s TV viewers,” said Graham Hughes, Chief Executive of Sure in Jersey. “We’ve invested in the development of Sure TV specifically to provide islanders with the choice they’ve long been waiting for in the home entertainment market. Users will find that Sure TV fills a lot of the gaps that exist with today’s Freeview programming in the island as well as better recording functions than Sky + can offer.
“As well as a more advanced set-top box which incorporates HDTV and remote multi-channel recording, Sure TV users will have access to popular channels that they can’t get with Freeview. We are confident that Sure TV will change TV viewing in Jersey forever.”
Sure TV is available to Sure broadband customers from Tuesday 17th October. More information about the service is available online at www.surecw.com or from the Sure store in St Helier.
