By popular demand, dancing stars Anton Du Beke and Erin Boag will return to Jersey as part of this year’s Liberation International Music Festival with a new show. The pair will perform at Fort Regent on Sunday 12th May in a night not to be missed.
Professional partners for more than 14 years, Anton Du Beke & Erin Boag are best known for their appearances on the BBC’s “Strictly come Dancing” series. Other notable milestones in their career include choreographing the hit stage show ‘Simply Ballroom’ which toured internationally for two years, and a number of acclaimed sold-out dance tours between 2009 and 2013.
In 2012 tickets for Anton and Erin’s performance in Jersey were so popular that last year’s festival organisers took the decision to move it from the Opera House to Fort Regent’s Gloucester Hall, which has a capacity of 1,800. This year, the dance show promises once again to be the climax of the Festival.
Erin Boag stated, “We loved dancing in Jersey last year to celebrate the Liberation of the island and we are delighted to be coming back. We met so many amazing people and really enjoyed our first public date in the islands. This year we are going to bring a new show to you directed by Christophe Chateau that is going to have you dancing in the aisles”
Chairman James Mews commented, “The Strictly night was a huge hit at the Liberation festival last year. Then we were petitioned by so many people asking if Anton and Erin could come back so it was hard to say no! It’s a brand new show with an exciting and even slicker feel. They’ll be feather-girls, lindy-hop dancers, jazz dance, ballroom and a whole heap of styles brought to you by the wonderful duo Anton and Erin and their supporting dancers.”
Now in its fifth year, the Liberation International Music Festival has gone from strength to strength and this year will once again see a fantastic line-up of internationally acclaimed stars perform in Jersey alongside hundreds of local musicians. The festival takes place during the week of Liberation Day, with performances at various venues around the Island, and this year runs from Wednesday 8th to Sunday 12th May.
Tickets for the dance event cost from £25 and are on sale at the Fort Regent box office on 449827 or online at www.gov.je/events.
