Somerville the Superior
As part of the Dolan Hotel Group’s ongoing investment in Jersey’s tourism industry, they are proud to announce the opening of the new Somerville Hotel Superior Garden Rooms, three luxury summer garden suites enjoying their own private sun terrace located within the hotel grounds overlooking St Aubin’s bay.
Each room boasts spacious bedroom and living space, large marble bathrooms fitted with walk-in ‘rainforest’ showers and bath, and access to a private south facing sun terrace overlooking the garden and across St Aubin’s Bay. Guests can enjoy the excellent services and facilities provided by the Somerville Hotel whilst making their own complementary cocktails using an exclusive minibar starter pack of ingredients and carefully selected recipes provided by the hotel’s head barman Florin Cenan.
The new development follows an increase in guests booking the high-end accommodation already available at the four star hotel. David Plowright, General Manager at the Somerville Hotel commented ‘Over recent years the Somerville Hotel has noticed a growing demand for its larger luxury rooms, particularly from locals booking weekend breaks or ‘staycations’. The Superior Garden Sea View Rooms were designed in direct response to this, and although only completed in April, they are already receiving a great level of interest from both tourists and locals. We confidently believe that the Superior Garden Rooms will significantly enhance and complement the hotels offering.’
The only hotel on the Island to be awarded 4 Gold Star grade through Jersey Quality Assured (JQA), the Somerville Hotel has already established a strong reputation for its outstanding service, accommodation and its award winning restaurant. Its immaculately kept lush gardens, heated pool and terrace make this the ideal location for a luxury get away.
Group Bookings, Weddings and Private Events
Whilst the Somerville Hotel provides a picturesque venue for wedding ceremonies and receptions, the new Superior Garden Sea View Rooms also provide an alternative private reception area should guests desire their own exclusive area within the grounds. The hotel has already received enquiries and bookings from families and friends wanting to book all three rooms together to utilize this private space.
Jersey Tourism has supported the new development throughout, as well as Andrew Jones, Economic Development Department, Hospitality and Leisure Manager who comments: ‘It is welcoming to note whilst other establishments have gone by the wayside the Dolan Hotel Group continue to invest in Jersey’s tourism industry. These rooms far exceed the expectations of the registration criteria both in size and appearance and I am sure they will please the most discerning of guests’.
