Jersey law firm Sinels is marking its silver anniversary celebrations this year by embarking on a £25,000 fundraising drive for Jersey charities.
This year Sinels is celebrating its 25th anniversary as one of Jersey’s leading law firms and, to celebrate the milestone, the firm’s team of lawyers and support staff are striving to raise £25,000 for local charities by the end of the year.
Working in conjunction with the Association of Jersey Charities, the firm will distribute the funds raised between 25 of Jersey’s smaller charities.
Over the course of the year, staff at the firm will plan and arrange a number of fundraising activities, including a flagship gala dinner, a family fete and numerous quiz nights. In addition, staff intend to raise money by jumping out of a plane, abseiling down the side of a building, organising a golf tournament, hosting a bowling challenge, holding pool nights and participating in various physical endurance challenges.
To kick-start the fundraising drive, a recent quiz night and a fundraising ‘haircut and dye’ raised £1,000 in aid of the Jubilee Sailing Trust in Jersey, which helps physically challenged people to sail the seas on specially adapted boats.
Meanwhile, tying in with the 25th anniversary celebrations, Sinels has also unveiled a major re-brand this week, including a brand new look website at www.sinels.com.
Advocate Philip Sinel, Senior Partner and founder of the firm, said:
“When I founded Sinels in 1987, it was on the principles of championing what is fair, right and true, backed up by a real passion for Jersey and its people. That philosophy still rings true today, 25 years on, which is what has motivated us to undertake a charity drive this year.
“£25,000 is a significant amount for any firm to raise, but we have a reputation for exceeding expectations – much like the smaller charities we want to support. We have enormous pride in the firm reaching its 25th anniversary and hope our friends, family and clients will support us on our charity drive.
“This charity drive, and the new brand identity we recently unveiled, not only supports our silver anniversary, but our future growth. We are now providing a number of new services for clients, we aim to recruit staff at a senior level across the firm, and I am very encouraged and excited by the future plans for Sinels.”
Lyn Wilton, administrator of the Association of Jersey Charities, said:
“Many charitable organisations in Jersey provide amazing services and raise awareness of vital local issues, but don’t have the time to regularly raise funds, so it is fantastic that Sinels are focusing on these charities in particular. Every penny they raise through their fundraising activities will enable the charities to do what they do best – provide care and services for people in Jersey that are in most need.”
