People in Jersey can enjoy two limited edition speciality coffees and help raise money for local charities at the same time, thanks to a joint initiative between law firm Sinels and coffee house Bean Around the World.

The coffees have been created by baristas at Bean Around the World in support of a fundraising drive launched recently by Sinels, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. Throughout the year, Sinels’ staff are aiming to raise £25,000 in aid of 25 Jersey charities.

The two ‘Sinels Sensations’ coffees include the ‘Sinels White Chocolate and Espresso Indulgence’ – an espresso with white chocolate and steamed milk in a short glass – and the ‘Sinels Sundae Sensation’, a small sundae with vanilla ice-cream, espresso and cream.

Both coffees are available now from Bean Around the World, on the corner of Beresford Street and Halkett Place in St Helier.

Fifty pence from the sale of each coffee will be donated to two of Sinels’ chosen charities: Meals on Wheels, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, and the JSPCA.

The launch of the Sinels Sensations coffees at Bean Around the World is one of a number of initiatives planned for this year, with staff at Sinels aiming to arrange a number of fundraising activities, including a flagship gala dinner and a family fete.

Philip Sinel, Senior Partner of Sinels, said: “To mark our 25th anniversary this year, we wanted to give something back to the local community and raise a significant sum for Jersey charities. It’s fantastic that Bean Around the World have agreed to team up with us to help achieve this aim, and I would encourage people to sample the two specially created coffees whilst they can – they really are a treat and very tasty!”

David Stokes, owner of Bean Around the World, added: “Helping to support local charities is something we believe passionately in, so when we heard that Sinels was embarking on this ambitious fundraising drive, we were only too pleased to help. The two coffees we’ve created give people a choice – a sophisticated treat for the summer and a sweet coffee that will really get the taste buds tingling.”

Major Stephen Coleman, CEO, JSPCA, commented: “It costs an enormous amount of money to provide for aged, sick, lost and unwanted animals in Jersey and we are grateful for every penny that is contributed through the fundraising efforts of firms like Sinels and Bean Around the World.”

Hilary Grant, Chairman, Meals on Wheels Jersey, commented: “We are delighted that Sinels and Bean Around the World approached us with this fantastic fundraising initiative, particularly as this year is our 50th anniversary of delivering meals, and the independence that goes with it, to local people.”
