The latest addition to Liberty Wharf, brand new premium fish and chip restaurant and takeaway Seafish Café aims to reel in fish fans with tasty recipes using the freshest local and sustainable fish.

Takeaways are raising the bar to tempt the tastebuds of today’s discerning diners, and Seafish Café is doing exactly that with the classic favourite of fish and chips, leading the way when it comes to serving sustainable fish suppers with a gourmet twist. With a menu featuring the best of the season’s local and sustainable fish, whether you’re picking up a top class fish and chip takeaway or eating in their restaurant, you can be sure you’re making the right choice.

Giving classic fish and chips a premium upgrade is the job of Seafish Café co-owner and chef Roger White from The Bass & Lobster who plans to use locally caught and sustainably-sourced fish in his tasty recipes to bring fish and chips up to date. Roger explains: ‘People always associate cod with fish and chips but there are plenty more fish in the sea, and we hope our menu will give people the chance to try varieties like whiting, pollock and coley alongside classics like haddock, plaice and of course cod, all from sustainable sources.’

Seafish Café’s prominent location at Liberty Wharf puts it in a prime spot to catch the attention of visitors looking for a taste of Jersey. It’s been designed to create a relaxed, friendly atmosphere where you can order premium fish and chip shop favourites to take away, along with homemade sauces and mini tubs of Ben & Jerry’s ice-cream, or bring the family to the restaurant for a sustainable fish feast to eat in, with plenty of lighter grilled fish dishes along with salads and vegetarian options. There’s even a selection of wines, specially chosen to match the menu’s fish and chip dishes by local wine expert Neil Pinel from Dunell’s Premier Wines. In keeping with their local ethos, Seafish Café worked with design powerhouse The Observatory to bring a fresh approach to their branding, website and online campaigns and Üba Studio to come up with an attention-grabbing logo.

Seafish Café’s co-owner Frank de Jesus is keen to stress that top quality food doesn’t have to mean top prices. ‘Going out to eat good food shouldn’t break the bank. By sourcing as much of our produce as we can locally, and making our own sauces and condiments to take away, we plan to keep prices down and give Jersey diners a great experience.’

Seafish Café’s Winter Opening Hours: Open seven days a week. Mon-Sat 11.30am-2.30pm for lunch, 5pm-9.30pm (last orders 9.15pm) for dinner in the restaurant and 5pm-10.30pm for takeaways. Open on Sundays: 11.30am-6pm.
