Hanson Renouf is understood to be the first law firm in Jersey to have recruited a Queen’s Counsel to its ranks. Leading commercial silk, Richard Jones QC, brings with him a level of experience and expertise that will be difficult to find elsewhere in the Island.
In celebration of Richard’s recruitment, Hanson Renouf is organising a short seminar at the Longueville Manor on Thursday 13th March. The seminar is entitled ‘Risk: both corporate and personal’ and will be followed by a drinks reception and the opportunity to meet Richard and the Partners.
The seminar will appeal to Directors and employees at any level within a financial or trust institution.
Richard Jones QC will be addressing:
- aspects of risk (both at a corporate and a personal level),
- personal liability of and risks for executive and non-executive directors,
- the irreversible trend in scrutiny of corporate and board of director decisions which lead to loss,
- the encouraging signs for corporate defendants from the English Court of Appeal in applying (or not applying) regulatory principles to claims against institutions and
- future trends.
Advocate Timothy Hanson, Partner and Head of Professional Negligence at Hanson Renouf, will be speaking on recent legal developments in respect of proceeds of crime and Jersey Trusts.
Advocate Mark Renouf will chair the seminar.
We are currently awaiting CPD accreditation for the event.
Registration (inclusive of tea, coffee and cookies) will commence at 4pm for a prompt 4.15pm start.
Following the seminar there will be a drinks reception with canapés from 6pm in the Bateman Room.
The cost of the event is £35 per person, and allocation of places is on a first come first served basis, so please ensure that you RSVP to Lucy Fosse directly by either emailing email@example.com or by phoning 767764.
