LibertyBus has amended the school bus routes 772, 773, 774 and 775 from Friday 27 September 2013, following an assessment of capacity on these routes.
Francesca Rotheram, Marketing Manager, commented, ‘Although in essence, the routes have not considerably been altered, there are some minor amendments such as which number bus students will be boarding at their stop’.
LibertyBus has also met with various secondary schools to resolve current issues during the new school term. Ian Campbell, Operations Manager, added ‘the Operations Team has been working on a solution internally and with the schools to adapt the current school network so that it accommodates for the significant increase in student bus users this year, as quickly as possible’.
The revised school bus schedule for these particular routes will be implemented on the morning of Friday 27 September. Further revisions some of the remaining school bus routes will be taking place throughout the term.
LibertyBus has experiencing an unexpected high demand for school bus travel this term. The average number of students travelling last term was 1700. On the first day of term in September, the total number was 2329 and this number has been steadily increasing.
LibertyBus would like to thank all of the students, parents, guardians and teachers for their patience since the start of the new school term.
