Recycle for Jersey Week (24-30 September 2012)
Transport and Technical Services are pleased to announce that next week is the first annual Recycle for Jersey Week.
The Recycle for Jersey Team has been putting together a diary of events for the week which target different sectors of our island community, including schools, businesses and householders.
Emma Richardson, Recycling Manager, TTS, said ‘Recycle for Jersey Week is an opportunity for us to raise awareness about all of our local recycling initiatives as well as focus attention on those things that shouldn’t be thrown in your bin, such as electrical items and batteries.’
The recycling of electrical goods is a priority for TTS and they have worked with local artist, Ian Rolls, to create ‘Mr Robot’ out of waste household electricals as a way to raise awareness of this initiative. Mr Robot has already appeared at Jersey Live and Spice and will be appearing at the following locations: 21-23 September: St John, ‘teddy bear field’ opposite Parish Hall, 24-25 September: St Ouen, field opposite Parish Hall , 26-28 September: St Aubin, opposite Parish Hall and 28-30 September: Holme Grown.
