There was a great response to the pulse checks, between 9 am and 2 pm in the foyer of the General Hospital.
From Consultant Cardiologist Andy Mitchell:
“The team (Lee Anne Penn, and Lisa Anderson, our specialist cardiac BHF nurses) saw 136 people this morning and did pulse checks and blood pressures on them all. Take up was amazing with queues of people throughout the session. We had a portable ECG monitor that we used on 15 people meaning that only 5 needed a formal ECG (all abnormal and including one atrial fibrillation). A few had high blood pressure. Letters have been sent and follow-up has been arranged for them all.”
