Transport and Technical Services is proposing to install a new pedestrian refuge island on St Saviour’s Hill, due west of the entrances to Langtry Gardens and Jersey Cricket Club and St Saviour’s Bowling Club.
The road will be widened both sides of the entrance to the Cricket and Bowling clubs to provide the road width required for the installation of the pedestrian refuge island.
The new island will make it more convenient and safer for pedestrians to cross each carriageway individually.
A new 1.8m wide footway is also going to be installed from the beginning of the verge from Langley Avenue up to the main entrance to Grainville Playing Fields on the eastbound side of the carriageway.
Further details and drawings of the project can be found on www.gov.je/consult. Anyone wishing to comment on the proposals is asked to contact the Department either by email to email@example.com or in writing addressed to Transport Policy – Langtry Gardens Pedestrian Crossing, Transport and Technical Services, PO Box 412, South Hill, St Helier by Friday 18th April.
