Ormer restaurant, by renowned chef Shaun Rankin, has stamped its authority on the Jersey culinary scene with a high entry into the Good Food Guide 2014.
The accolade comes only four months after the new St Helier restaurant opened and is a true testament to the quality of the new venue. The recommendation describes Ormer as ‘sophistication meets brasserie-style buzz’ and waxes lyrical about the creative design, exciting ambiance, exemplary desserts and imaginative wine list.
The Good Food Guide is the UK’s longest running, bestselling restaurant guide. The guide includes independent reviews of the best dining establishments throughout the UK. Ormer joins an impressive collection of Jersey restaurants in the new publication including Longueville Manor, Bohemia, Sumas, The Atlantic Hotel Ocean Restaurant, Tassilli, The Oyster Box, and Mark Jordan at the Beach.
Shaun Rankin, Chef Proprietor, Ormer, says:
‘We are absolutely thrilled to be accredited by the Good Food Guide after only a few months of opening. The recommendation is compiled from independent reviews from diners and critics so it really means a great deal to us. I want to extend my congratulations to the other Jersey restaurants who have excelled in the Guide this year; the quality of dining being delivered in the Island is exemplary and Jersey is really gaining attention as a destination for gastronomy.’
Elizabeth Carter, Consultant Editor of the Good Food Guide, commented:
‘It’s great to see the Channel Islands continuing to do so well in Waitrose Good Food Guide 2014. Particular acknowledgement must go to Mark Jordan at the Beach and Ormer – in their different ways both are a unique and fabulous addition to the Channel Island’s restaurant scene.’
