Open evening for the BSc (Hons) International Financial Services degree from Jersey International Business School University Centre
Jersey International Business School are delighted that, in addition to HSBC and RBS International, four more prestigious organisations – Standard Chartered, UBS, Ogier and Canaccord – will be joining them at their forthcoming Degree Open Evening, following the success of the work placement programmes during the degree’s inaugural year.
Students will have the chance to find out more about joining the 2013 and 2014 intakes of the 2-year BSc (Hons) International Financial Services degree and associated work experience. These 6 work placement programmes give students accepted onto the degree the opportunity to gain paid, relevant and structured industry experience over the two years of their degree with some of the world’s leading banking institutions. Students successful in applying for the work placements will study on the degree during the first half of the week and will attend their place of employment in the latter half.
The Open Evening will take place at Jersey International Business School at the Weighbridge on Thursday 26th September 2013 from 5.30pm to 7pm. A series of mini lectures will commence at 5.45pm and students will learn all about the benefits of studying the two-year on-island degree and the different approaches taken by each Work Support Programme partner in giving students work experience. There will be plenty of opportunity for general questions and answers and also for individual consultation with lecturers and staff.
Chris Usher, Senior Lecturer and Commercial Director at Jersey International Business School, comments, “The Work Support Programme has been running successfully with HSBC and RBS International since 2012 and we are delighted that Standard Chartered, UBS, Ogier and Canaccord are now on board. Our current students taking part in the programme have really benefited from experiencing the day-to-day running of these organisations and putting their learning into practice.”
Applications for the degree are separate to the UCAS process and are being accepted for October 2013 and 2014 so the Open Evening will be of interest to students in Sixth Form and recent school leavers who are still considering their options. The degree is also an option for those wanting to change career and those facing uncertainty in their current roles.
