Is your mum the best in the world? Does she deserve something really special this Mother’s Day? Would you like to be able to shout out to the whole Island just how much she means to you?
Writing a personal card or letter to someone to tell them how much they mean to you is one of the most thoughtful things you can do – and this year on Sunday 30 March, people can share their thanks with the public.
Jersey Post has teamed up with the Jersey Evening Post to offer a choice of three great prizes worth £250 each for five lucky winners of the Mum’s the Word competition. People are being asked to write a letter explaining why, in no more than 250 words, their mum is the best in the world and letting her know just how much she means to her children.
The winner in each of five age-group categories will be able to choose from one of three prizes, which include a stunning bouquet of flowers from Eden by Claire delivered to your mum’s door every month for a year; vouchers from the Royal Yacht to perhaps spend on dinner for two, a spa treatment for mum or even an overnight stay; or £250 worth of shopping vouchers from de Gruchy to go and treat herself to that something special. But everyone’s a winner with Jersey Post’s Mum’s the Word competition, because all of the entries will be put on public display at the Broad Street Post Office so that everyone can read how special the nominees are.
Catherine Gasston, Marketing Manager at Jersey Post said: “Mother’s Day is an important time for the family, when we can tell our mums just how highly we value them. Nothing says how much you care about someone than taking the time to write a personal letter or card. We want this competition to give people the opportunity to make Mother’s Day this year really personal – and give all mums in Jersey a chance to win a great prize.”
Competition entries must be hand-written, and must be sent to Jersey Post by Monday 24th March. There are five categories covering the age of those making the nomination, from under six to over 30 years old.
