Deputy Kevin Lewis, Minister for Transport and Technical Services is pleased to advise motorists that Mount Bingham will open as normal for two-way traffic on Thursday 12 December.

The contractor, Geomarine Ltd, working on behalf of the Parish of St Helier, has worked very hard and its Rope Access Team has been able to stabilise and make safe the rock face sooner than expected.

On 15 September, during routine inspection and maintenance work, the rock face on Mount Bingham was found to be in urgent need of a significant amount of stabilisation work and in the interests of public safety, Mount Bingham was closed to all traffic and pedestrians. All parties concerned worked together to get the required work completed as soon as possible.

The Minister for Transport and Technical Services said: “I am delighted to see Mount Bingham open again and the congestion issues of the last three months will now be over.”
