Moore Stephens Jersey will be partnering with the Marine Biology Section of the Societe Jersiaise this year.
The Marine Biology Section aims to preserve and further understand Jersey’s unique marine life and coastal habitats and research and monitor the surrounding sea and coastline. They are funded entirely through donations and through voluntary work.
Moore Stephens’ sponsorship will help support many community events including a visit to the island from a highly regarded marine biologist and staff and school training on ‘Shore Thing Surveys’. Moore Stephens’ employees will also get involved through lunch and learn sessions, fund raising at the firm’s regular social events and also through a beach clean where staff will visit a nearby beach to collect as much litter as possible and contribute to a shore survey.
Francis Binney, chair of La Societe Jersiaise Marine Biology Section, welcomed the support. “We are very grateful to Moore Stephens for sponsoring the Marine Biology Section and I’m sure what we have planned over the year will generate a lot of interest within the community.”
Clive Barton, partner at Moore Stephens said: “Jersey’s coastline is a fantastic asset for the island and its preservation is important to so many people. We are thrilled that through our sponsorship of the Societe Jersiaise we will be contributing to preserving our shores for all islanders to enjoy.”
Moore Stephens is supporting the Societe’s upcoming seminar on sharks, presented by international expert Dr Carl Meyer. The event takes place on 10th July at 8pm at the Societe Jersiaise Members Room.
