Thanks to the generosity of the marketing community in Jersey, JT’s fundraising for Autism Jersey has been given a boost of £2,500.

Autism Jersey is JT’s chosen charity for three years and as headline sponsor of the Chartered Institute of Marketing’s (CIM) annual awards dinner in November, JT joined together with the CIM to raise funds and awareness of the Charity during the event. The evening proved successful for both the charity and for JT which picked up the CIM award for ‘Best Creative Execution’.

Steve Cartwright, Chairman of the Jersey branch of the CIM, said: “Our annual awards dinner was an excellent opportunity for Autism Jersey to raise its profile among a wide reaching audience and we were very pleased to support JT in its efforts to support this very worthy local cause. It is my pleasure to make this significant donation on behalf of all our CIM member and guests who contributed so generously on the night.”

Nick Winsor from Autism Jersey, said: “We are incredibly grateful to both JT and the CIM for their support and the funds raised will go towards the work we do with those in Jersey living within the Autism spectrum. At the CIM awards event we also had the opportunity to provide more information about our charity which was fantastic exposure for us among a 500 strong audience. We thank everyone who made a donation on the night.”

Tamara O’Brien, Head of Marketing, Brand & Distribution at JT, said: “The CIM awards event gave us an opportunity to help promote Autism Jersey and as a double success on the night we were delighted to take home the award for ‘Best Creative Execution’. We are looking forward to a calendar of events for 2013 which will enable us to further support this important local charity.”

In April 2012 JT chose Autism Jersey to benefit from its local fundraising for three years as part of the Group’s global commitment to support the cause. As well as supporting the Charity’s own events, to date JT has raised an additional £6,500 through organising a 24 hour charity cycle on static bikes in its global offices, fundraising at Jersey Live in September and through the CIM awards event.
