Marketers Vote for New Award and Gyles Brandreth confirmed as Guest Speaker
Jersey News, 12 November 2009 – The Jersey branch of The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) has introduced a new category for its 2009 Marketing Excellence Awards and the winner will be chosen by professional marketers based in Jersey.
Steve Cartwright, Chairman of the Institute’s Jersey Branch, said: “The new ‘Creative Communications Award’ has been specially developed to engage local marketers with the judging process. The winner will be chosen by our local members, who will be able to vote for their favourite submission using a specially developed online system.”
The four nominees for the award are; babybarn.je, Bank of Scotland, Jersey Live and Jersey Monumental.
Mr Cartwright added: “The award aims to recognise qualities such as creativity, uniqueness, impact and effective delivery. The inaugural entries are very strong and cover a range of media, including; print, web and broadcast. All Jersey based members of the Institute have been invited via email to view the entries online and to vote for the winner. We are very excited about this new award as the winner will know that they have been selected by their professional peers, making the award a unique recognition of their work.”
As well as announcing the voting process for the new award category, Mr Cartwright has also confirmed that Gyles Brandreth will be the host for the evening. The writer, broadcaster and former Tory MP is a widely acclaimed speaker and entertainer and has been receiving rave reviews for his new book: “Something Sensational to Read in the Train: the Diary of a Lifetime by Gyles Brandreth.”
Mr Cartwright said: “Gyles Brandreth is one of the UK’s most talented and entertaining speakers and will add an extra dimension to the evening. We very much look forward to welcoming him to Jersey.”
The winners of the Awards will be announced at a Gala Dinner held on Friday 20 November at the Hotel de France. Of the 550 tickets available, fewer than 30 remain and these can be purchased online at www.cimawardsjersey.com priced at £75 each.
