Maintenance Work on Beaumont Hill
On Tuesday 9 October 2012, infrastructure maintenance works start on Beaumont Hill and will continue until February 2013.
Transport and Technical Services will be installing new vehicle safety barriers, carrying out high friction surfacing works and road drainage improvements.
Beaumont Hill is one of the Island’s busiest roads. To minimise disruption, the work has been programmed for the winter months and will be carried out between the morning and evening rush hours on weekdays only. There will be no works during the Christmas week.
Starting on Tuesday 9 October, Beaumont Hill will be closed to southbound traffic from 9.00am to 4.30pm weekdays, and Mont Fallu (hill only) will be closed to westbound traffic from 9.00am to 4.30pm weekdays.
A webpage informing members of the public about the project is currently being developed and will be available from the start of the works.
Major stakeholders have been consulted with respect to the works, including the emergency services. Businesses will remain open as usual.
Although Transport and Technical Services will be doing their utmost to minimise disruption, these essential infrastructure maintenance works will cause some delays to motorists and disturbance to householders. We apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused.
