Locate Jersey is proud to have played a role in the visit of Chinese Premier Li Keqiang and his business delegation to the UK this week, by sponsoring the UK-China Business Dinner in honour of the Premier.
Senator Alan Maclean, Minister for Economic Development, met Premier Li at the VIP Reception, discussing with him the business opportunities and key benefits of Jersey for China businesses wishing to use the Island as a gateway to Europe.
Increased business opportunities have been at the centre of the visit and this was emphasised greatly by both Premier Li and Chancellor George Osborne during their speeches on Tuesday night at the Dinner, which was attended by 650 guests from business and government.
Lord Sassoon, Chairman of China-Britain Business Council, expressed his appreciation of Locate Jersey’s involvement in the dinner.
Locate Jersey also attended the UK/China Trade Economic Forum: Partners for Growth event at Westminster Great Hall, which was attended by the 250-strong business delegation from China, and by more than 250 senior representatives from UK business to discuss major opportunities in bilateral trade and investment relationships.
