Liquid wins silver at PRide Awards
LIQUID has won silver at the PRide Awards for one of its integrated PR and marketing campaigns.
The consultancy’s ‘Love Sweet Potatoes’ campaign for Scott Farms International, the UK’s largest importer of the vegetable, was one of three campaigns shortlisted in the ‘Integrated Communications’ category in the Chartered Institute of Public Relations PRide Awards in the Wessex and Channel Islands region.
Liquid’s CEO Lis Lewis-Jones and account manager Gemma Long were presented with the silver award at an awards ceremony in Southampton on Wednesday.
Liquid managing director Jason MacKenzie said being awarded silver was an achievement for the whole of the Liquid team.
‘The Integrated Communications award recognises excellence in combining disciplines such as marketing, advertising, digital and public relations to generate business results ’ he said.
‘Liquid has extensive experience of executing integrated campaigns through marketing, design, media relations and online and so to have that independently recognised by judges with many years in the industry is something we are very proud of.’
The Love Sweet Potatoes campaign, which was worked on by members of Liquid’s teams in Guernsey, Jersey and Birmingham, set out to educate the consumer of both the nutritional benefits of the sweet potato and how to cook and eat it. Since it was launched in 2011, the campaign has gained national exposure and the business has increased its market share.
‘The Wessex and Channel Islands’ CIPR PRide Awards celebrate the best PR and communications campaigns and teams from across the region. The sheer number of high quality entries received this year, especially when things are still pretty tough out there economically, is testament to a thriving regional industry. The CIPR PRide Awards represent the best, most creative and most effective public relations work across the UK, to be a silver winner means your work has been judged as amongst the best in your area by leading PR experts,’ said CEO of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations.
The campaign has also been shortlisted in the Chartered Institute of Public Relations PRide Awards in the Midlands region, with the winners being announced in November, and the success of Scott Farm International has also been recognised by its own industry. It is the current re:fresh Importer of the Year and is has also been shortlisted for the European Business Awards.
