Liberation Group Brews Special Ale for the Duke’s Men
Liberation Group (www.liberationgroup.com) will be toasting the crew of HMS IRON DUKE at this year’s Barclays Jersey Boat Show with a special ale produced for the event.
Iron Brew will be available throughout the three day event and is being produced to celebrate the Island’s association with the Type 23 Frigate which is based in Portsmouth. Crew members from the ship, in which Prince William served and is also affiliated with the City of Hull, will be visiting Jersey during the Bank Holiday weekend of 5th May as guests at the Barclays Jersey Boat Show.
On the Friday before the show opens, members of the ship’s complement will visit Liberation Brewery at Longueville in Jersey to taste the beer that is being brewed in their honour.
Mark Crowther, Chief Executive of Liberation Group says: ‘I had the privilege of going on board HMS Iron Duke when she was in Jersey last year and I took some of our award-winning Liberation Ale with me for the crew to enjoy. It struck us that it would be a fitting idea to brew a special ale for the ship to cement the relationship between it and the Island. Iron Brew is the result and I’m looking forward to sharing a pint or two with the crew members, when they are off duty of course!’
Liberation Group has a long-standing affiliation with Britain’s Armed Services and supports Holidays 4 heroes Jersey, a charity that organises visits to the Island for injured servicemen and women. Throughout the Barclays Jersey Boat Show, 10p from every pint of Iron Brew sold will be donated by Liberation Group to Holidays 4 Heroes Jersey.
