Lavender Villa Residential excelled at the Trackers Awards, achieving two prestigious accolades. The award ceremony took place at the Jersey Arts Centre on Saturday 1st March and was well attended with over 30 employers and 50 apprentices represented at the ceremony.
The celebratory evening was the first Trackers awards ceremony to take place. Trackers – The Apprentice Programme has been set up to support local employers and islanders, to help people excel in their chosen career. Each apprentice is allocated a Trackers Mentor who works with them and their employer to help achieve the best outcomes for all. Apprenticeships are offered across a variety of industries and sectors including; Care, Hospitality, Construction and Motor Vehicle. The awards ceremony recognised six award-winners, as well as highly commended accolades in each category. The awards evening was hosted by David Witherington, Chairman of the Jersey Skills Board.
Lavender Villa Residential was highly commended for the ‘Medium Business of The Year’ award,. The award is given to a company that:
- Can demonstrate investment in their apprentices learning and development;
- Recognises the potential apprentices have to play in the future of their business; and
- Who have ‘gone the extra mile’ to support their apprentice(s).
The residential home has grown exponentially since the company was established in August 2011 and now cares for 20 local residents.
Natasha Butler (Care Assistant at Lavender Villa Residential) was also highly commended for the ‘Exceptional Progress Award,’ acknowledging the hard work and achievement of a young person. Mrs Butler has been studying for the Health and Social Care Level 2 QCF qualification. This certification, kindly sponsored by Trackers, will enable her to excel with her career and progress to the next level at Lavender Villa Residential.
