Sean Baudin’s appointment as Senior Officer of Kleinwort Benson in Jersey

As it celebrate 50 years in Jersey, Kleinwort Benson has entered 2012 with a new offshore structure and has appointed Sean Baudin to head up its Jersey operation.

Educated at Hautlieu, Sean has more than 25 years’ experience in finance, 22 of those spent at Kleinwort Benson.

He joined Kleinwort Benson as a Trust Officer in 1989, and was appointed to the board of Kleinwort Benson (Jersey) Trustees Limited in 1998.

In addition to his role as Senior Officer of the Jersey operation, Sean will continue as Director and Head of Fiduciary Services for Kleinwort Benson, which includes both its offshore and onshore trust services.

Within the new management structure Sean will report into Mark Bright, Managing Director of Offshore Businesses. The structure reflects Kleinwort Benson’s extended offshore presence across Guernsey, Jersey and now the Isle of Man, as well as a wholly owned subsidiary in Cape Town, following its acquisition of Close Offshore Group in 2011.

Also reporting into Mark Bright is: Head of Banking and Credit, Patrick Goddard; Head of Fund Administration, Adam Moorshead; Head of Custodian Trustee, Mark Symons; Head of Kleinwort Benson in the Isle of Man, Lesley Corlett; and the proposed Head of Offshore Distribution Partners, Clive Wright.

In addition to better reflecting the new business, the structure also supports Kleinwort Benson’s service to entrepreneurs. The company believes it is important to support clients who are building businesses at every stage of the wealth creation cycle: from the early-stages, to growth capital and M&A advice, through to IPO and subsequent wealth management and wealth structuring.

“Sean’s experience within the local finance sector, as well as his 22 years at Kleinwort Benson meant that he was the natural choice for the role of Senior Officer,” said Mark Bright.

“Kleinwort Benson has undergone a lot of change over the last few years. With the acquisition of Close Offshore Group, we have seen the size and scope of our offshore business increase, both in terms of our physical presence and the services we now offer.  As we celebrate our milestone anniversary of 50 years in Jersey, we look to the future with a renewed focus – to be the bank for entrepreneurs. With the expertise and experience of people like Sean at the helm, I am confident we can achieve that.”
