The Law Society of Jersey will be hosting a conference on February 22nd at the Radisson Blu hotel.
The conference is entitled ‘Justice, but at what cost? ’ and will appeal to lawyers, members of the court system and those with an interest in legal costs, including States members.
The aim of the conference is to explore the issue of legal fees, budgeting, the reforms being explored in other jurisdictions, and the inherent tension between the pursuit of justice and limiting the costs incurred.
The conference will be chaired by Advocate Timothy Hanson, President of the Law Society of Jersey, and will include sessions on a range of topics delivered by a variety of well respected, knowledgeable speakers including UK legal professionals.
Registration will start at 1.45pm and the welcome and introductions will commence at 2.00pm; the conference is scheduled to finish at 5.00pm.
At a cost of just £25 per person, the event carries 2.5 CPD hours and includes tea and coffee.
