JT to sponsor Jersey Live for 5th year

Jersey News, 2 March 2010 – Jersey Live Music FestivalJersey Telecom and Jersey Live Festival of Music have confirmed that they will continue their successful partnership for a fifth successive year. Since the telecoms firm became lead sponsor, the event has grown from a one-day festival attracting some 3,500 music fans to a weekend-long extravaganza with multiple stages and crowds of up to 10,000 festival goers each day.

Announcing the deal, Tim Ringsdore, Managing Director of Jersey Telecom, said: “We are very proud to be partnering with Jersey Live for a fifth year. The festival has grown into the biggest event in the island’s calendar and as well as providing first class entertainment for local people, it has also helped to put Jersey on the map internationally and has been at the forefront of event led tourism.”

Mr Ringsdore added: “Ever since we came on board in 2005, the deals that have been negotiated each year have always been highly commercial. By linking Jersey Live tickets to JT services we have been very successful in generating new and repeat business for our mobile and broadband services in recent years and we’ve also been able to offer our customers the kind of exciting promotions that really add value and set us apart from the competition.”

This year’s festival is set to be bigger and better than ever, with the organisers promising a world-class line up and a number of exciting new additions. Warren Holt, Director of Jersey Live, said: “We are absolutely delighted to be continuing our successful relationship with JT. As a partner, they have shared our vision for the festival and their support has been invaluable in helping us to grow the event into one of the most highly regarded boutique festivals in Europe.”

Jersey Live has a long history of showcasing music stars in the ascendancy and last year was no different, with acts such as Dizzee Rascal going on to win ‘Best Male Artist’ at last weekend’s prestigious Brit Awards.

Looking ahead to the 2010 line up, Mr Holt added: “After the success of Dizzee Rascal in 2009 and with bands like Kasabian, The Prodigy and Snow Patrol having graced the Jersey Live stage, it is always a challenge to move the event forward and meet expectations. However, we have been speaking with some truly amazing acts for this year and we hope to announce one or two big names in the next few weeks.”

The Jersey Live Festival of Music will take place on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th September at the Royal Jersey Showground in Trinity. Tickets are likely to go on sale from the end of April and as in previous years Jersey Telecom customers can look forward to a range of deals to help them get their hands on the hottest tickets around.
