The Jersey Opera House brochure will be sent to all 40,500 households on the island by Jersey Post commencing Tuesday 30th August.
This season is full of diversity, from our screenings such as the NT Live’s One Man, Two Guvnors, starring James Corden, to the Met: live in HD third installment of Robert Lepage’s new production of the Ring cycle, Siegfried.
We get to welcome back some audience and JOH favourites this autumn such as The Royal Air Force Squadronaires, Nerina Pallot, Branchage International Film Festival, Puppetry of the Penis (but this time it’s bigger AND better as it’s in 3D), Essence of Ireland, Ed Byrne, Talon and Mark Watson. These festivals and shows have always been extremely well received and at times we have waiting lists a mile long to get tickets – so remember to book early.
There are also the community productions from a whole host of clubs and organisations such as St Martin’s Musical Society, The Jersey Eisteddfod and the Jersey Green Room Club’s traditional panto – Sleeping Beauty.
Looking for something to do with the kids this October half term, why not come along to the Opera House. We have Goldilocks and the Three Bears AND High School Rocks! Family fun for all ages!!
We could not go without mentioning the National Dance Company of Ireland’s stunning 10th anniversary celebration of Rhythm of the Dance along with the hilarious Fascinating Aida – it is exciting times here at the Jersey Opera House.
Jasmine Hendry, Theatre Director of the Opera House said “This autumn season is jam packed with a diverse range of live stage shows and live screenings, all of which are of exceptional quality and not to be missed. We’ve got some firm favourites back (I for one am looking forward to Puppetry of the Penis in 3D as the brochure copy alone makes me laugh every time I read it) along with some brand new productions such as Rhythm of the Dance. Not only do we have this fantastic season but there will also be the unveiling of the refurbished areas and the opening of our new and improved Café Bar – so watch this space!!”
