Jersey has given effect to sanctions against 21 Ukrainian and Russian officials who have been identified by the European Union as responsible for actions that undermine or threaten the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine.

The Community Provisions (Restrictive Measures – Ukraine) (Amendment) Order 2014 comes into force yesterday, 18 March 2014. The measures ensure that Jersey’s sanction regime remains aligned with international developments. They include travel restrictions and asset freezes in relation to the individuals listed.

The list of designated persons is published by the UK Treasury at

All Jersey financial institutions are requested to check whether they hold any accounts, funds or economic resources for the persons listed and, if they do, to freeze such accounts, funds or economic resources and report the facts to the Chief Minister’s Department.

The relevant officials at the Chief Minister’s Department may be contacted at international@gov.je
