Shaun Rankin, Head Chef, Bohemia

Shaun Rankin will be returning to BBC One’s Saturday Kitchen this weekend on 21st April 2012. Jersey will receive national attention on the popular culinary show, which is watched by over 2 million people. Shaun will be joined by James Martin, the host of the show, and London based chef Bryn Williams.

Shaun, from Bohemia in Jersey, was approached to appear on the show prior to the Jersey Food Festival which he is planning to promote. He has also recently grabbed UK headlines as the chef chosen to hold a pop-up restaurant at the Dorchester this May, so his profile has grown massively on the London scene.

Shaun will be staying true to his local produce roots and introducing the Saturday Kitchen audience to a number of ingredients including the Jersey Royal Company ‘Pearl’ potatoes, the latest addition to the local companies’ product portfolio.

Shaun will be cooking a locally inspired dish from his cookbook ‘Seasoned Islands’ Jersey sea bass poached in confit lemon butter with asparagus, oysters and Jersey Royal Company ‘Pearl’ potatoes. All of the ingredients have been supplied by local producers.

Shaun Rankin, Head Chef, Bohemia, commented:

‘It is always an honour to return to Saturday Kitchen. I am very much looking forward to promoting Jersey produce on national TV once again, as I believe the local suppliers deserve the credit. I will be trying to attract the show’s UK audience to Jersey for the food festival and highlighting the fact that Jersey is a culinary destination. I am looking forward to talking about The Dorchester and the Channel Island inspired menu I am presenting there.’
