Walkers can now register for the 2013 Itex-Rotary walk.
Now in its 23rd year the Itex walk has already raised nearly £2 million pounds for local charities. This year the walk will take place on Saturday 22nd June and organisers hope to top last year’s impressive total of nearly £102,000!
The main charities to benefit from funds raised by this year’s event will be Mind Jersey, Durrell and the Air Training Corps – 7 Overseas Jersey Squadron all of whom have some exciting projects for which the monies raised will be used.
Last year, saw 733 brave souls finish the gruelling 48.1 miles around the island with 159 people finishing the Lieutenant Governor’s Challenge which covers a quarter of the distance of the total walk. This year the LG Challenge covers the 13 miles between La Fontaine and Le Braye and is the ideal option for those walkers who wish to participate but can’t face the full 48.1 mile challenge!
