Andrew Whelan appointment at International Asset Monitor (IAM) service

Due to the continued success of the International Asset Monitor (IAM) service, Michael Strachan, Founder and Group CEO, is delighted to announce that Andrew Whelan has joined the Group as Managing Director to establish a Jersey office.

Mr Whelan has 26 years’ experience as an investment professional and has won multiple investment awards, including Lipper, PAM, Financial Times and Investors Chronicle recognition.

IAM provides an innovative, independent and comprehensive advisory service suitable for anyone with direct or fiduciary responsibility for investments. The service enables a client to structure, monitor and control all material aspects in the management of a substantial investment portfolio, whether managed directly through funds or externally through discretionary managers.

Mr Whelan who is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment commented “Having been a multi-asset fund manager for many years I fully understand the complexities and issues facing clients when deciding how to protect and grow their wealth. I have worked with Michael Strachan, the founder of IAM, for the past 10 years and was delighted to have the opportunity of joining IAM to add my complementary skill sets to the existing highly experienced team within IAM”.

Mr Whelan was a founding partner of the Ermitage Group following its management buyout in 2006 from Liberty Life. He left Ermitage after it was successfully sold to Nexar Capital Group in July 2011. Having been at Ermitage since 2001, he gained valuable experience and insight into the alternative sector, including hedge fund strategies, manager selection, risk management and portfolio construction.
