IMAGE PR LAUNCHES PUBLIC SPEAKING CHALLENGE TROPHY
Jersey News, 16 November 2009 – Image PR in Jersey has launched a public speaking competition aimed at year 12 (lower sixth) school pupils. It is called, ‘The Image PR Public Speaking Challenge Trophy.’
Peter Zunino, account director at Image said, ‘Public speaking is a great life skill to have and is something that most people will have to do at some stage, whether at a wedding or giving a presentation at work. Speaking in front of an audience is often perceived as daunting, but it need not be, and we really want to give the students confidence in this area. It could help them gain a place at university and further their career prospects later down the line.’
The final of the competition will be held at The Jersey Arts Centre on Saturday 28 November 2009 from 09:30. It will be judged by BBC broadcast journalist, Edward Sault, Peter Zunino and Andrew Lewis, managing director of Image.
Peter Zunino continued, ‘At Image PR, we have significant public speaking experience, borne of communicating with local, national and international media as well as professional presentations to Image PR clients. We will run a free seminar at each of the participating schools, to workshop public speaking skills with interested pupils. The response from the schools has been fantastic and we are really looking forward to the first seminar.’
