Teams of runners dressed in bunny outfits delivered chocolate Easter egg treats around schools and nurseries raising more than £3,000 for the Grace Crocker Family Support Foundation.
On Wed 9th April, Pete Wright and his team of bunny runners: Andy Smith, Rachel Wright, Heather Aston-Jones, Stuart Dore and Tracy Needham ran around the island to 12 different locations sharing the chocolate treats.
Pete is Chief Financial Officer at GoldMoney who sponsored the run for the second year running: ‘Last year it was just me doing the run, but this year I’m pleased to say that I had help delivering the eggs which means we have been able to get to more schools and nurseries. The whole point is to raise money for the Grace Crocker Foundation and I’m delighted that we beat last year’s total. We’re already starting to think about next Easter so if there are any schools that want to be included in the run, do get in touch.’
Grace Crocker was born in Jersey with hypo-plastic left heart syndrome and had open heart surgery at just five days old. Grace’s family had to move to Southampton for three months to be with her, but sadly Grace died aged just 11 weeks. The charity aims to help other families who have to go off island when a child is seriously ill, and gives financial and emotional assistance.
Geoff Turk, Chief Executive Officer, GoldMoney said the company was delighted to play its part in supporting the Bunny run: ‘It was a fantastic effort by the whole team in achieving their aim of raising funds for this very worthwhile charity. It’s not often a Chief Financial Officer dresses up in a bunny suit but it is testament to Pete’s “get up and go” that he and his wife Rachel organised this event and are making a difference in the local community.’
