Grand Jersey will host a live performance of new comedy ‘Baby, It’s Cold Outside’ by playwright Brenda Murphy on Thursday October 3rd and Friday October 4th.
The play centres on a young working class man who agrees to be a sperm donor for a childhood friend and her lesbian partner. Stranded together in a cottage on Divis Mountain during a snow storm they find out more about each other than they care to know, encountering each other’s phobias and foibles in a hilarious and engaging piece of comedy drama.
Brenda Murphy, from West Belfast, received much acclaim for her play ‘A Night with George’. ‘Baby, It’s Cold Outside’ debuted in Belfast’s Roddy McCorley club in November with the same West Belfast cast who will perform in Jersey; Kevin Elliott, Nichole Murphy, Fiona Hall and Sarah Wilson. The play was again performed at this year’s West Belfast Festival to packed audiences.
The play is £27.50 per ticket which includes a two course dinner and £2.50 from each sale will be donated to Adult Day Care Service (Le Geyt).
Eamonn Elliott, general manager at Grand Jersey, said: ‘Grand Jersey is able to provide an intimate venue for plays and other events and we are looking forward to welcoming Brenda and the cast to the island for what will be a highly professional and impressive comedy performance.’
Grand Jersey is offering an overnight package for £144 which includes an overnight stay for two people with breakfast as well as two tickets for the show including a two course dinner.
