The five-star Grand Jersey Hotel & Spa will host a charity event with a difference in aid of Jersey Heritage on 5th April 2014.
The event, entitled ‘The Grand Tour’, will give islanders the chance to enter a treasure hunt, which will see them drive around the island, following cryptic clues in order to find local landmarks. The event will highlight some of the island’s best historical features while also raising money for Jersey Heritage.
Guests will meet at the hotel for an afternoon tea lunch at noon, before embarking on the driven treasure hunt for the afternoon. The ticket price will also include a gala ball and dinner in the evening, a prize giving presentation and an overnight stay at Grand Jersey Hotel & Spa, with full English breakfast. Tickets for the event are priced at £100 per person and a donation will be made from each sale to Jersey Heritage. Teams can be of any size, providing all participants can travel safely in the team leader’s vehicle. Tickets for the event can be booked by calling the hotel directly on 01534 288460.
Jonathan Carter of Jersey Heritage said: ‘We were honoured to be chosen as the official charity of Grand Jersey Hotel & Spa last year and we have been delighted with the results of their fundraising, which has helped us to continue to protect the island’s heritage. With The Grand Tour, Grand Jersey’s events team has devised a great way to continue to fundraise for Jersey Heritage while giving participants the chance to discover their island’s heritage.’
Grand Jersey raised £6,057 for Jersey Heritage in 2013 through the ‘£1 on bills’ donation scheme, which gives guests staying at the hotel the option of adding £1 to their final bill to be donated to local charities. The initiative has previously raised over £12,000 for Durrell Wildlife Conservation also.
