Health minister, Deputy Anne Pryke, will this week present local charity, Family Nursing and Home Care, with the Investors in People Silver Standard.
The presentation event will take place on Wednesday 4th June at the Royal Jersey Agricultural and Horticultural Society Showground, Trinity, and will be a celebration of outstanding achievements for both the charity and its employees and volunteers. In addition to the presentation of the Investors in People accreditation, three nursing staff will also receive awards for academic studies while a further 25 team members will receive recognition for the completion of the Modern Management Programme. The presentation will also see one staff member receive the prestigious William Glasson Award, an award set up in memory of the former FNHC staff member. The recipient of the award is nominated and voted for by FNHC peers.

They are all committed to delivering outstanding patient care and these awards and qualifications only go to show how dedicated they are to doing this.’
In order to secure the much coveted Silver Standard, FNHC worked closely with Investors in People to meet or exceed a set of benchmarks, including a strong focus on employee management. To reach Silver Standard, FNHC had to complete over 115 criteria requirements.
FNHC received significant praise from the Investors in People regulators on completion of the assessment, with assessors saying: ‘Family Nursing and Home Care staff are visibly involved in decision making processes, and feel empowered to make these decisions, whilst fully understanding the strict guidelines that they have to adhere to when it comes to patient care… FNHC employees clearly had learnt a great deal about themselves, and understand about quality and assurance across the business.’
FNHC is a forward thinking, modern charity that continues to adapt in order to provide the services that islanders need today. The charity provides a variety of services from birth to end of life including health visitors, school and children’s nursing, district and specialist nursing as well as home and domestic care. In order to continue providing its breadth of outstanding services in the community, FNHC requires £2 million in voluntary income and donations.
The presentation will take place at FNHC’s AGM at 6:30pm on Wednesday 4th June 2014.
