Equiom Solutions, the Tax and Estate Planning specialists, are to hold a morning seminar on the subject of the complexities surrounding tax planning when purchasing and/or owning UK property.
The Seminar, entitled ‘UK Property for Jersey Residents’ will take place on Wednesday 10th September, 8.30am to 2pm at the Pomme D’oR, St Heiler. It is being organised in association with Savills plc, the global real estate provider, which is also providing guest speakers.
This will continue the series of tax seminars hosted by Equiom Solutions, part of the multi-jurisdictional Equiom Group, and will be the first of its kind for Jersey. The seminar is directed at Jersey residents, individuals, companies and trusts with an interest in UK property.
The Seminar will be opened by Hiren Mistry, Legal Counsel for Equiom (Jersey) Limited and will begin with an overview of tax planning for UK property. It will continue with summaries of the UK commercial property market, the mainstream UK residential market and the London residential market and the associated tax issues. The complexities associated with the taxation of UK residential property owned by non-residents and the taxation of commercial property will also be addressed in detail.
The speaker line-up, which includes John Nugent, Managing Director of Equiom Solutions, and two renowned Equiom Solutions’ Tax Directors, Helen Woods and Phillip Dearden, boasts a wealth of knowledge and experience of tax planning and mitigation. The Equiom team will be joined by property experts Simon Aldous, Steven Lang, Anthony Griffiths and Charlotte Strang from Savills.
John Nugent commented: “This is the first time we’ve organised a seminar of this nature in Jersey and the feedback has been very positive. It is open to both individuals and intermediaries with an interest in the structures available to effectively manage tax burdens associated with Jersey residents purchasing and owning UK property.”
