Eliot Lincoln, CEO of St Helier-based consultancy, Greenlight, has been announced as national Young Director of the Year 2012 by the UK Institute of Directors (IoD).
Greenlight’s remarkable team spirit and unprecedented growth were cited as major factors that led to Lincoln beating candidates from across the UK. Lincoln says, “It’s a tremendous honour to receive the award of Young Director of the Year from the IoD. Everyone at Greenlight has worked incredibly hard to make the business a success. We’re now in our fifth year and have just opened a new office in Guernsey, so it’s an exciting time for the expanding Greenlight team. This award shows us that our quest for excellence really is taking us to where we want to be.”
Open to directors across the business spectrum, the IoD Director of the Year Awards determine first regional UK winners then, through a comprehensive judging process, overall best of British business leaders.
In May 2012, Lincoln was awarded Young Director of a Medium-sized Business by the Jersey IoD. This win secured his place as finalist in the UK awards, held on Friday October 5th at Lancaster Hotel, London hosted by Michael Portillo.
As founding director of Greenlight, Lincoln has steered the business transformation specialist consultancy from a two-man operation to a 24-strong team with a turnover of £1.6 million. With clients throughout the Channel Islands and UK, Greenlight is now also branching into mainland Europe.
The judges awarded Lincoln the winning prize based on compelling evidence demonstrating Greenlight’s outstanding achievements over the previous 12 months. Information provided to the panel covered systems and initiatives Greenlight uses to encourage employee engagement, strategies for growth and policies for ethical and social responsibility, among others.
Jason Laity, Chairman of IoD Jersey, who accompanied Lincoln to the London awards, commented, “I’m delighted for Eliot. He has worked hard to establish and develop Greenlight and in the process he has proven that Channel Island firms really can reach into international markets.
Lincoln concludes, “Our primary aim is to consolidate our position as the premier change management consultancy in the Channel Islands, helping all kinds of businesses realise their potential. Winning this award inspires us to aim for even greater achievements in the future.”
