ISLANDERS who intend to stand for election are being invited to upload their details to the vote.je website.
Prospective candidates are able to upload their name, contact details and photograph to the vote.je website in advance of the information going live on 1st September 2014.
Vote.je is an essential guide to voting in Jersey and contains everything you need to know about registering to vote and voting in the October 2014 elections. The website has been established by the Privileges and Procedures Committee and Committee Chairman, Deputy Jeremy Maçon, said that providing Islanders with access to all the information about candidates and the election process was essential.
He said: “Vote.je is the place where everyone can go to find out about the candidates who are standing for election in their parish or district. We are giving prospective candidates two weeks to upload their details to the site before publishing their photograph and contact details on 1st September. After the nomination meetings, candidates’ manifestos will also be published on vote.je.”
In the lead-up to the elections the Committee will also be sending a brochure to all Island households with information about the candidates and how to vote. Candidates who want their details to be included in the brochure need to upload their photograph, contact details and manifesto to vote.je before 12 noon on Friday 19th September 2014.
