Cost effective ergonomics seminar

Muscular and skeletal problems are the scourge of the modern office. They cost the UK economy an eye-watering £7bn a year in lost production. Yet at a time when employers need their staff to be fully focused on their work, with no discomfort or pain to distract them, the resources to deal with them are shrinking.

Grant Henderson of Active Ergonomics Jersey, says “ This is a very costly issue for employers in both the private and public sector in the Channel Islands. I am delighted we will be able to provide them with some simple and cost effective solutions to improve the wellbeing of office workers”

Grant has joined forces with Posturite, the UK’s leading supplier and manufacturer of ergonomic workstation accessories to hold the first ‘Cost Effective Ergonomics’ day in the Channel Islands. The seminar will provide employers with a range of practical suggestions, many at low or no cost-to, make their offices more ergonomically efficient. There will also be a demonstration of training options, which can reduce muscular and skeletal conditions in office workers.

The event is free of charge and will be of particular interest to HR professionals, Health and Safety and Facilities managers, and to Occupational Health and other medical professionals. It will take place at the Pomme D’Or Hotel on Thursday the 4^th October.  Posturite’s leading Ergonomist Katharine Metters will be leading the event, alongside Grant Henderson of Active Ergonomics Jersey.

Katharine is a Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists and the Institute of Safety & Health and is also a qualified Ergonomist. This unique combination of qualifications and her vast experience of working in many sectors enable Katharine to offer a very broad based range of training, education and health and safety management in the workplace.

Grant is a well-known local chiropractor who has practiced in the Channel Islands for over 20 years. He is a Fellow of the College of Chiropractors and through his many years of experience as a chiropractor and workstation assessor has developed a profound understanding of office ergonomics. As a result of his clinical and ergonomic consultancy work, he has helped many thousands of individuals in the Channel Islands to lead healthier, happier lives.
