Collas Crill is on the shortlist to be named Offshore Law Firm of the Year by Legal Week.
The British Legal Awards celebrate achievement, excellence and innovation in the legal industry.
Named the fastest growing offshore law firm, Collas Crill is the first and only law firm to open an office in Singapore offering Channel Islands legal advice.
Managing partner Jason Romer is an acknowledged thought leader in Guernsey’s ground breaking image rights legislation and also plays a key role in two of the Channel Islands newest industries, egaming and renewable energy.
Jason Romer said: “Collas Crill’s drive is to provide the highest quality legal advice to our clients all over the world. But service excellence isn’t enough to enable sustainable business within our markets, and I am delighted that we have been recognised by judges who are also looking for innovation.
“The old adage ‘adapt or die’ remains true in all business centres, and the Channel Islands are no different. We are encouraged by the drive towards diversification and innovation in the islands and very proud to be playing a part in it, for example in the development of ground-breaking image rights legislation.”
Legal Week editor-in-chief Alex Novarese said: “There has been a 10% increase in the number of entries submitted and the quality continues to improve significantly.
“With the UK and Europe battling to return to growth, competition among leading commercial law firms could not be fiercer. Meanwhile, in-house legal teams are grappling with the impact of the post-credit crunch regulatory clampdown at a time when budgets are under huge pressure. The British Legal Awards set out to recognise the achievements of those law firms, teams and individuals who are responding most successfully to the demands being placed on them in the new business environment.
The winners of The British Legal Awards 2012 will be announced on 22 November 2012 in London.
